BARK time again! BARK Heard Around The World was held again at the Syracuse Fairgrounds, NY on May 22nd, 2010 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
We were there but it was not as successful as last year. For some reason there weren't as many people. National Geographics Rescue Ink was supposed to be there again but at the last minute they bailed on the presenters. Shame on them.
We had our Chihuahuas with us and they were a big hit. We were hoping to sign some Fosters but did not have luck at that either.
Hopefully next year will be better.
2009 PAST EVENTS
BARK Heard Around the World! This was the second year for BARK. This year it was held on May 28th, 2009 in Syracuse New York at the Fairgrounds. There was a great showing of people. There were many presentations given on the horrors of Puppy Mills and Auctions, over population and the effect it has on society.
One of the big draws the ladies were able to pull off was the presence of Rescue Ink. They have been showcased on the National Geographic Channel. They are a group of bikers who will go any where they are needed to help animals. What a nice group of people. They had a little tiny puppy that had been beaten and now has brain damage. If he is not held he just goes in circles. Junior told me that "He don't fit in, we don't fit in, so it works"! God Bless them for what they do!
At the time of BARK we had not started Help A Hound, Inc. Donna, our now VP and myself, had the pleasure of having our picture taken with Rescue Ink.
The hall was filled with Rescue groups vending dog and cat wares to raise funds. There were drawings and plenty of t-shirts for sale. It was a good day. Many people came through and showed their support with purchases and attendance at the presentations. Many people brought in their little puppy mill survivor fur babies. Shelters were there to promote adoption and awareness as well.

Some people were VERY supportive of their furry friends, such as this man. What a character!!
I wonder what his Great Dane must have been thinking?
All in all it was a very productive day.
